The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 9:06 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: David L. Anderson, Garry Breitkreuz, Murray Calder, Claude Duplain, Mark Eyking, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Larry McCormick, Dick Proctor, Bob Speller, Paul Steckle, Suzanne Tremblay.
Acting Member present: Wayne Easter for Rose-Marie Ur.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge and Jean-Denis Fréchette, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada: Samy Watson, Deputy Minister; Douglas D. Hedley, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy Branch; Mary Komarynsky, Director General, Adaptation & Financial Guarantee Programs, Farm Financial Programs Branch. From the Canadian Food Inspection Agency: Robert Carberry, Director, Plant Health and Production Division.
