The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sarmite Bulte, Rodger Cuzner, Christiane Gagnon, Cheryl Gallant, John Harvard, André Harvey, Loyola Hearn, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln, Dennis Mills, Shawn Murphy.
Acting Members present: Murray Calder for Paul Bonwick, Tom Wappel for Bryon Wilfert, Robert Lanctôt for Caroline St-Hilaire.
In attendance:
Witnesses: From the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: Don Stephenson, Director General, Trade Policy Bureau II, Services, Investment and Intellectual Property Bureau; Michael Brock, Director, Inter-American Division; Claude Carrière, Director General, Trade Policy Bureau I; Catherine Dickson, Director, Information and Technology Trade Policy. From the Department of Canadian Heritage: Artur Wilczynski, Senior Policy Adviser, International Relations; Janette Mark, Director, Trade and Investment Policy.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a meeting on the cultural content of the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas (FTAA).
Michael Brock made an opening statement and , with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 10:53 a.m. by unanimous consent, the Committee proceeded to sit in camera.
At 11:15 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
