The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Jim Abbott, Sarmite Bulte, Claude Duplain, Christiane Gagnon, Betty Hinton, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln and Dennis Mills.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Cofman, intern; Joseph Jackson, Terrence Thomas; Research Officers. Consultant: David Black.
Witnesses: From the BCE - Bell Canada Enterprises: Bernard A. Courtois, Executive Counsel; Sheridan Scott, Chief Regulatory Officer, Bell Canada; Alain Gourd, Executive Vice-President, Bell Globemedia. From the Competition Bureau: Konrad von Finckenstein, Commissioner of Competition; Gwillym Allen, Senior Economist & Policy Advisor; Gaston Jorré, Senior Deputy Commissioner of Competition, Mergers Branch.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on the
State of the Canadian Broadcasting System. (See Minutes of Proceeding,
dated Thursday, November 8, 2001, Meeting No. 26).
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 11:35 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
