Meeting No. 44

Tuesday, February 26, 2002

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, David Pratt, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Claude Bachand, Stan Dromisky, John O'Reilly, David Pratt, Carmen Provenzano, Elsie Wayne and Bob Wood.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Department of National Defence: Brigadier-General J.J.R. Gagnon, Commandant, Canadian Forces College; Professor P.T. Mitchell, Director of Academics - Canadian Forces College.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the state of readiness of the Canadian Forces.

Brigadier-General Gagnon made an opening statement and with the other witness answered questions.

At 5:13 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
