The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, David Pratt, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Peter Goldring, Judi Longfield, John O'Reilly, David Pratt, David Price, Carmen Provenzano, Geoff Regan, Peter Stoffer, Elsie Wayne, Bryon Wilfert.
Acting Members present: Rob Anders for Art Hanger, Ivan Grose for Janko Peric.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner; Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Conference of Defence Associations: Lt-Gen Charles H. Belzile, (Retired), Chairman; Col Alain Pellerin, (Retired), Executive Director; Col Sean Henry, (Retired), Senior Defence Analyst.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the state of readiness of the Canadian Forces.
The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.
At 5:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
