The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Vice-Chair, David Price, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Leon Benoit, Peter Goldring, John O'Reilly, Janko Perić, David Pratt, David Price, Geoff Regan, Peter Stoffer, Elsie Wayne, Bryon Wilfert, Bob Wood.
Acting Member present: Rob Anders for Roy Bailey.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Department of National Defence: Lt-Gen Lloyd C. Campbell, Chief of the Air Staff; MGen. Richard Bastien, Assistant Chief of Air Staff; Col Angus Watt, Director, Air Review and Corporate Services; CWO Gilles Guilbault, Air Command Chief Warrant Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the state of readiness of the Canadian Forces.
Lieutenant-General Lloyd C. Campbell made and opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 4:45 p.m., the Chair, David Pratt, took the Chair.
At 5:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
