Meeting No. 37

Thursday, November 22, 2001

The Standing Committee on Transport and Government Operations met at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room, the Vice-Chair, Marcel Proulx presiding.

Members of the Committee present: André Harvey, Val Meredith, Marcel Proulx, Alex Shepherd, Paul Szabo.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John Christopher; June Dewetering, Researchers.

Witnesses: From the CAW - Canada (International Automobile, Aerospace, Transportation and General Workers Union of Canada): Ian H. Bennie, National Health and Safety Co-ordinator, Yves Côté, National Health and Safety Co-ordinator. From the Canadian Labour Congress: Cliff Andstein, Executive Assistant to the President; Bill Chedore, National Coordinator, Health and Safety.

In accordance with Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the current state of airline safety and security in Canada.

 

Cliff Andstein and Yves Côté each made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At, 12:25 p.m. the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
