Thursday, April 18, 2002
The Standing Committee on Transport and Government Operations met at 11:10 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Ovid Jackson, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Bev Desjarlais, Ovid Jackson, Mario Laframboise, James Moore.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Automobile Association: Elly Meister, Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications; Rosalinda Fischer, Manager, Government Affairs and Traffic Safety.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on Truckers Hours of Service, safety concerns and transborder/border crossing issues, and their impact on the Canadian trucking industry.
Elly Meister made an opening statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.
At 11:27 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:50 a.m., the sitting was resumed.
At 12:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
