Thursday, February 28, 2002
The Standing Committee on Transport and Government Operations met at 11:10 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Ovid Jackson, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Bev Desjarlais, André Harvey, Ovid Jackson, Mario Laframboise, Marcel Proulx, Alex Shepherd, Paul Szabo.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Research Officer.
Witness: As Individual: Dr. Ron Heslegrave, Chair of the Research Ethics Board, University Health Network.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to the consideration of Truckers Hours of Service, safety concerns and transborder/border crossing issues, and their impact on the Canadian trucking industry.
The witness made a statement and answered questions.
At 12:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
