MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 2

Tuesday, February 27, 2001

The Standing Committee on Transport and Government Operations met at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Ovid Jackson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Andy Burton, Bev Desjarlais, Jay Hill, Ovid Jackson, Ghislain Lebel, Dominic LeBlanc, Serge Marcil, Marcel Proulx, Brent St. Denis, Paul Szabo, Tony Tirabassi.

Acting Member present: Yolande Thibeault for Larry Bagnell

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John Christopher; June Dewetering, researchers.

In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2) the Committee began consideration of its future business.

It was agreed, - That on Thursday March 1st, officials from the Department of Transport will provide a departmental overview and briefing session to the Committee.

It was agreed, - That on Tuesday March 13th, officials from the Department of Public Works and Government Services will provide a departmental overview and briefing session to the Committee.

It was agreed, - That on Thursday March 15th, officials from the Treasury Board Secretariat will provide a departmental overview and briefing session to the Committee.

It was agreed, - That a meeting to discuss future business be held after the briefing by the Treasury Board Secretariat on Thursday March 15th.

It was agreed, -That the Committee will begin its consideration of S-2 (Marine Liability Act) on Tuesday March 20th.

At 12:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
