The Standing Committee on Transport met at 11:35 a.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Ovid Jackson, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: André Harvey, Ovid Jackson, James Moore, Alex Shepherd, Paul Szabo.
Acting Members present: John Williams for Gerry Ritz, Joe Peschisolido for Marcel Proulx, Guy St-Julien for Reg Alcock, Gérard Binet for Gerry Byrne.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Research Officer.
Appearing: From the House of Commons: The Hon. Lucienne Robillard, President of the Treasury Board.
Witness(es): From the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat: Carole Swan, Associate Secretary; James Lahey, Associate Secretary; Roberta Santi, Associate Deputy Comptroller General, Comptrollership Branch; David Bickerton, Executive Director, Expenditure Operations & Estimates Directorate, Comptrollership Branch.
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(6), the Committee proceeded to the consideration of the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2003: Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 under Treasury Board.
Lucienne Robillard made an opening statement and, with the witnesses, answered questions.
At 12:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
