Meeting No. 25

 

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 1998

 

The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 11:21 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 371 of the West Block, the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Jean Augustine, André Bachand, Colleen Beaumier, Maud Debien, Bill Graham, Raymonde Folco, Ted McWhinney, Bob Mills, Denis Paradis, Daniel Turp.

 

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: James Lee and Gerald Schmitz, Research Officers.

 

Witness: Stanley Gooch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to the United Mexican States.

 

Pursuant to Standing Orders 110(1) and 111, the Committee proceeded to examine the Order in Council Appointment P.C. 1997-1582 of Stanley Gooch as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to the United Mexican States.

 

Stanley Gooch made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 12:12 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
