The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Jean Augustine, André Bachand, Colleen Beaumier, . Maud Debien, Raymonde Folco, Bill Graham, Charlie Penson, Julian Reed, Benoît Sauvageau, Bob Speller, Daniel Turp.
Acting Member present: Keith Martin for Gurmant Grewal.
Other Member present: Murray Calder.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Lee; Gerry Schmitz.
Appearing: Bob Speller, M.P., Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade.
Witnesses: From the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: John Klassen, Director General, General Trade Policy Bureau.
In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee convened a briefing session on the public consultation process regarding the European Free Trade Agreement.
Bob Speller and John Klassen each made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 10:35 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
