MARDI, APRIL 21, 1998
The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:35 Clock a.m., this day, in Room 209 of the West Block, the Chair, Bill Graham presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Jean Augustine, Colleen Beaumier, John Cannis, Raymonde Folco, Bill Graham, Gurmant Grewal, Julian Reed, Svend Robinson, Benoît Sauvageau, Daniel Turp.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: James Lee, Research Officer.
Delegation: From the Palestinian Legislative Council: Hon. Ahmed Qurie, Speaker; Azmi Al-Sheibi, Member; Marwan Bargouthi, Member; Husam Khader, Member; Dalal Salameh, Member; Jamileh Saydem, Member; Baker Abdel Munem, Palestinian Delegate General to Canada.
In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to meet with a delegation from the Palestinian Legislative Council.
Ahmed Qurie made a statement and, with other members of the delegation, answered questions.
At 10:43 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
