The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:13 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 705, La Promenade Building, the Vice-Chair, Bob Mills, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Jean Augustine, André Bachand, Colleen Beaumier, Bill Graham, Ted McWhinney, Bob Mills, Julian Reed, Svend Robinson, Bob Speller, Daniel Turp.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: James Lee and Gerald Schmitz, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the World Federalists of Canada: Simon Rosenblum, Director. From the Conference of Defence Associations (CDA): Lieutenant-Colonel Victor A. Coroy (Retd.), Executive Director; Colonel A. Sean Henry, Senior Defence Analyst. From Science for Peace: L. Terrell Gardner, President. From Peace Research Institute – Dundas: Hanna Newcombe, Director. From the International Peace Bureau: Ann Gertler, Advisor.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its examination of Canada’s policy on nuclear non-proliferation, arms control and disarmament.
Simon Rosenblum, Victor Coroy, Terrell Gardner, Hanna Newcombe and Ann Gertler each made opening an statement and, with Sean Henry, answered questions.
At 9:40 a.m., Bill Graham took the Chair.
At 11:35 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
