The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:08 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, John Cummins, Wayne Easter, Georges Farrah, Loyola Hearn, James Lunney, Bill Matthews, Jean-Yves Roy, Paul Steckle, Peter Stoffer, Suzanne Tremblay, Tom Wappel.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance: David Rideout, Executive Director. From the Atlantic Salmon Federation: Stephen A. Chase, Vice President, Government Affairs.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), review of the report of the Commissioner for Aquaculture Development on the Legislative and Regulatory Review of Aquaculture in Canada.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 11:03 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
