Meeting No. 55

Thursday, May 30, 2002

The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.

Members of the Committee present:  Sarkis Assadourian, Andy Burton, John Cummins, Rodger Cuzner, Wayne Easter, Georges Farrah, James Lunney, Bill Matthews, Jean-Yves Roy, Peter Stoffer.

Acting Members present: John Efford for Tom Wappel, David Price for Dominic LeBlanc, Brent St Denis for Lawrence O’Brien.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, François Côté, Research Officers.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report on the implications of extending Canada's Exclusive Economic Zone to include the Nose and Tail of the Grand Banks and the Flemish Cap.

At 5:15 p.m., by unanimous consent, the Committee began consideration of a draft report on salmon fisheries management on the Fraser River.

At 5:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
