The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Matthew Dubé moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee invite the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to appear, no later than Friday, June 21, 2019, to respond to and take questions on the 2018 Public Report on the Terrorism Threat to Canada tabled in Parliament on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

Debate arose thereon.

Amendment

Ruby Sahota moved, — That the motion be amended by adding after the word “to appear,” the following: “at his earliest convenience, but”.

After debate, the question was put on the amendment of Ruby Sahota and it was agreed to.

The motion, as amended, read as follows:

That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee invite the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to appear, at his earliest convenience, but no later than Friday, June 21, 2019, to respond to and take questions on the 2018 Public Report on the Terrorism Threat to Canada tabled in Parliament on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

After debate, the question was put on the motion, as amended, and it was agreed to.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of cybersecurity in the financial sector as a national economic security issue.

At 4:44 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

Terri O'Brien and Justin Ferrabee made statements.

It was agreed, — That the Committee observe the rules of reduced quorum as described in its routine motion for the remainder of the meeting.

Terri O'Brien and Justin Ferrabee answered questions.

At 5:10 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:28 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The witnesses answered questions.

At 6:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
