Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, October 23, 2018, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-83, An Act to amend the Corrections and Conditional Release Act and another Act.

Ivan Zinger made a statement and with Marie-France Kinglsey, answered questions.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:38 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Hon. Kim Pate, Noa Mendelsohn Aviv and Cara Zwibel, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, made statements and answered questions.

At 5:35 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:37 p.m., the sitting resume in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee hold a briefing on the topic of the use and misuse of INTERPOL from 8:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., on Thursday, November 22, 2018, and that the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair and analysts, invite witnesses to appear.

It was agreed, — That the Committee accept as evidence in relation to its study of Bill C-83 the brief received from the Canadian Psychiatric Association.

It was agreed, — The Clerk make the necessary arrangements for the Committee to hold an informal meeting of one hour with a delegation of parliamentarians from Burkina Faso the morning of Thursday, December 6, 2018.

At 5:57 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
