The Standing Committee on Official Languages
met at 3:48 p.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair,
Mauril Bélanger, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, John Bryden, Benoît
Sauvageau and Yolande Thibeault.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the
Library of Parliament: Marion
Ménard, Analyst.
Witnesses: From
the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency: Jill LaRose, Director General,
Strategic Branch Management and Program Support Directorate, Human Resources
Branch; Denis Lefebvre, Assistant Commissioner, Customs Branch; Suzanne
Routhier, Acting Director, Official Languages Division, Strategic Branch
Management and Program Support Directorate, Human Resources Branch; Brian
Brimble, Director General, Operational Policy and Coordination Directorate,
Customs Branch.
Pursuant
to Standing Order 108(3)(d), a briefing session on services provided in both
official languages by the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency at large-sized
airports and border crossings.

Larose made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
