The Standing Committee on Official Languages met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Mauril Bélanger, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Carole-Marie Allard, Mauril Bélanger, Eugène Bellemare, Scott Reid, Raymond Simard et Yolande Thibeault.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, Analyst.
Witnesses: From the Quebec Community Groups Network: Martin Murphy, President, Executive Director of the English-speaking Catholic Council; Joseph Rabinovitch, National Executive Vice-President, Jewish National Fund of Canada: From the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages: Dyane Adam, Commissioner of Official Languages; Carsten Quell, Senior Officer, Liaison and Part VII.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(d), the Committee resumed its study on Part VII of the Official Languages Act ("Immigration and Official Language Minority Communities").
Martin Murphy and Joseph Rabinovitch made a statement and answered questions.
Dyane Adam made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.
At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
