The Standing Committee on Official Languages met at 9:09 a.m. this day, in Room 308 West Block, the Vice-Chair, Yolande Thibeault, presiding. |
Members of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Benoît Sauvageau, Raymond Simard and Yolande Thibeault. |
In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, Analyst. |
Witnesses: Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs: David Gourdeau, Commissioner, Federal Judicial Affairs; Suzanne Labbé, Deputy-Commissioner, Federal Judicial Affairs. |
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to a briefing session on the process leading to the nominations of the judges appointed by the federal gouvernment and the matter of bilinguism and linguistic duality. |
David Gourdeau made a statement and, with Suzanne Labbé, answered questions. |
At 10:10 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair. |
