Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, the committee commenced its study of device investigation tools used by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Philippe Dufresne made a statement and, with Gregory Smolynec, answered questions.

Motion

James Bezan moved, — That the committee publish to its website the documents submitted by the RCMP on Thursday, August 4, 2022 in relation to the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

Debate arose thereon.

Motion

Iqra Khalid moved, — That the committee do now adjourn.

The question was put on the motion and the result of the vote was announced:

YEAS: Parm Bains, Greg Fergus, Lisa Hepfner, Arielle Kayabaga, Iqra Khalid — 5;

NAYS: James Bezan, Matthew Green, Damien C. Kurek, René Villemure, Ryan Williams — 5.

Whereupon, the Chair voted in the negative.

Accordingly, the motion was negatived.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

At 1:06 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
