Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the committee resumed its study of federal government's use of technological tools capable of extracting personal data from mobile devices and computers.

The Minister made a statement and, with Dominic Rochon, answered questions.

At 12:01 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, October 30, 2023, the committee resumed its study of the decision of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to not pursue a criminal investigation in relation to the SNC-Lavalin affair.

Konrad Winrich von Finckenstein made a statement and, with Mario Dion and Michael Aquilino, answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the committee meet in camera at its next meeting to discuss matters related to committee business and related to the draft report for the study of the use of social media platforms for data harvesting and unethical or illicit sharing of personal information with foreign entities.

At 1:07 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
