Michael Geist and Jean-Pierre Charbonneau made statements and answered questions.
René Villemure moved, — That the committee request BlueDot Inc. to file the names of its data providers by Monday, March 7, 2022, and that the analysts attach this information to the report of this study.
Debate arose thereon.
Iqra Khalid moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.
The question was put on the motion and the result of the vote was announced:
YEAS: Parm Bains, Greg Fergus, Lisa Hepfner, Iqra Khalid, Ya'ara Saks — 5;
NAYS: James Bezan, Matthew Green, Damien C. Kurek, René Villemure, Ryan Williams — 5.
Whereupon, the Chair voted in the affirmative.
Accordingly, the motion was agreed to.
Questioning of the witnesses resumed.
James Bezan gave notice of the following motion:
That the committee immediately undertake a study of at least four meetings on the leak and misuse of personal data from crowd fundraising websites, and how the Canadian government can work to reduce these risks in the future; and that the first witness invited before the committee be the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
