Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, May 16, 2022, the committee commenced its study of access to information and privacy system.

The Commissioner made a statement and answered questions.

Motion

Iqra Khalid moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h), the committee undertake a study on children's digital privacy, to ensure that the data of Canadian children is adequately protected; that the committee review existing privacy frameworks, emerging technologies such as age-appropriate design codes, and emerging best-practices from comparable jurisdictions, including those implemented by the United Kingdom; and that the committee devote a minimum of three meetings to this study and report its findings to the House.

Debate arose thereon.

Ryan Williams moved, — That the committee do now adjourn.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
