Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)c) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the committee commenced its study of indigenous procurement.

Joanna Bernard and Philip Ducharme made statements and answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the meeting of Tuesday, October 1, 2024, be devoted to the study on the federal grants and contributions process and that the responsible Deputy Minister of the Department of the Environment and its chief financial officer be invited to appear.

It was agreed, — That, with regard to the study on the postal service in Canada’s rural and remote communities, the parties be instructed to prepare their recommendations for the draft report by Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in both official languages, if possible.

It was agreed, — That, with regard to the study on the bilingual status of 24 additional post offices in the greater Montreal area, the relevant officials from the Treasury Board Secretariat also be invited to the meeting that the Committee intends to devote to this subject.

It was agreed, — That, with regard to the study on the federal grants and contributions process, the date and time by which the parties must submit their prioritized witnesses lists to the clerk be postponed to Thursday, September 26, at 12 p.m.

At 1:12 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
