Meeting No. 32

Thursday, October 25, 2001

The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 9:15 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Joe Fontana, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mark Assad, Yvon Charbonneau, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Joe Fontana, Paul Forseth, Art Hanger, Steve Mahoney, Inky Mark, Anita Neville, Jerry Pickard, Lynne Yelich.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jay Sinha, Researcher.

Witnesses: From the Citizenship and Immigration Canada: Elizabeth Tromp, Director General, Enforcement Branch; Tony Smith, Director, Ports of Entry Management, Enforcement Branch; Beverley Boyd, Director, Travellers Program Design and Development, Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA).

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) – The Committee resumed consideration of its study on the Security at Ports of Entry in Canada.

Elizateth Tromp made an opening statement and with Tony Smith and Beverley Boyd answered questions.

At 11:07 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
