The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in a televised session at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Fontana, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mark Assad, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Joe Fontana, Paul Forseth, Steve Mahoney, Inky Mark, Anita Neville, David Price, Judy Wasylycia-Leis.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Benjamin Dolin; Margaret Young, Researchers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) – the Committee resumed its review of Regulations under the new Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
Witnesses: From the Chinese Canadian National Council: Jonas Ma, President; Rupert Yeung, Member, Ottawa Chapter of the Chinese Canadian National Council. From the Ukrainian Canadian Congress: Eugene Czolij, President; Eugen Duvalko, Executive Director, Canada Ukraine Immigrant Aid society. From the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg: Leslie Wilder, Vice President, Human Resources; Faye Rosenberg-Cohen, Planning Directeur. From the Shipping Federation of Canada : Anne Legars, Director, Policy and Government Affairs. From the National Organization of Immigrant and Visible Minority Women of Canada: Dr. Anu Bose, Executive Director; Karine Pelletier, Member.
