The Standing Committee on Transport met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Ray Bonin, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Gérard Asselin, Roy Bailey, Ray Bonin, Murray Calder, John Cannis, Roy Cullen, Bev Desjarlais, Stan Dromisky, Claude Drouin, Michel Guimond, Stan Keyes, Lee Morrison, Lou Sekora.
Acting Members present: Mark Muise for Bill Casey.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Researcher.
Appearing: From the Department of Transport: The Hon. David Collenette, Minister.
Witnesses: From the Department of Transport: Margaret Bloodworth, Deputy Minister; Ron Jackson, Assistant Deputy Minister; Louis Ranger, Assistant Deputy Minister; Ronald Sully, Assistant Deputy Minister.
Pursuant to an Order of Reference of the House dated Monday, March 1, 1999, the Committee proceeded to the examination of the Main Estimates for the fiscal year 1999-2000: Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 under Transport; Vote 15 under Privy Council.
The Honourable David Collenette made an opening statement and, with Margaret Bloodworth, Ron Jackson, Louis Ranger and Ronald Sully, answered questions.
At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
