The Standing Committee on Transport met at 6:30 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Raymond Bonin, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Roy Bailey, Murray Calder, Roy Cullen, Claude Drouin, Stan Keyes, Paul Mercier, Lee Morrison .
Acting Members present: Yves Rocheleau for Michel Guimond.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher and Dan Shaw, Research Officers. From IBI Group: Lee S. Sims, Consultant.
Witnesses: Lynx Consortium: Jean-Paul Gourdeau, Project Director; Ann MacDonald, Deputy Project Director.
In accordance with Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of a review of passenger rail services offered by Via Rail and the means to revitalize this important mode of transportation within the context of the fiscal and environmental concerns facing the Government (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Tuesday, February 17, 1998, Meeting No. 10).
Jean-Paul Gourdeau made an opening statement and, with Ann MacDonald, answered questions.
At 8:35 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
