Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of assessing the impact of aircraft noise in the vicinity of major Canadian airports.

Sara Wiebe and Neil Wilson made statements and, with Jonathan Bagg, Blake Cushie, Nicholas Robinson and Joseph Szwalek, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, answered questions.

At 9:46 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:51 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Martin Massé, Bob Sartor and Anne Murray, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, made statements and, with Anne Marcotte, answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee resume consideration of the following motion on Thursday, November 1, 2018:

  • That the Committee commit to no more than four meetings to study bus passenger safety, hearing from, in order but not limited to, emergency room physicians and coroners, the Transportation Safety Board, the US National Highway Transportation Safety Authority, transportation safety advocates and stakeholders, and finally from bus manufacturers, and that the Chair be empowered to coordinate the necessary witnesses, resources and scheduling to complete this task.

At 10:46 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
