The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met in a televised session at 8:46 a.m. this day, in Room C-110, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Marie-Claude Morin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Niki Ashton, Jay Aspin, Joyce Bateman, Anne-Marie Day, Roxanne James, Marie-Claude Morin, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Susan Truppe and Wai Young.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Hedy Fry for Hon. Judy Sgro and Carol Hughes for Sana Hassainia.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Martha Butler, Analyst; Sandra Elgersma, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Treasury Board Secretariat: Ross MacLeod, Assistant Deputy Minister, Governance Planning and Policy Sector; Martine Glandon, Manager, Values and Ethics.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of sexual harassment in the federal workplace.
 

Ross MacLeod and Martine Glandon answered questions.

 

At 9:45 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:48 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the next meeting of the Committee be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

 

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding any decision made prior, the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure meet from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2012, to discuss additional witnesses for the study of sexual harassment in the federal workplace, and that the list of additional witnesses be presented to the Committee on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

 

It was agreed, — That, since on Thursday, November 8, 2012, the House of Commons will sit according to the daily order of business of a Friday by special order, the Committee meet for one hour only on that day, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

 

At 9:53 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
