The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 9:30 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Sue Barnes, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Roy Cullen, Albina Guarnieri, Rahim Jaffer, Joe McGuire, The Hon. Maria Minna, Charlie Penson, Pauline Picard, Gary Pillitteri, Tony Valeri, Bryon Wilfert.
Acting Member present: Claude Bachand for Pierre Paquette.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Principal Analyst, Blayne Haggart, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Lightweight Materials Research Initiative: Dr. M. J. Pursuant to Standing Order 83(1), the Committee continued its pre-budget discussions.
William Harney, Colonel (Retired) Richard J. Evraire, Adje Van de Sande, Christina Marchant, Sharlyn Ayotte, Jillian Deevy and Chief Cece McCauley made a statement and answered questions.
At 11:00 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:08 a.m., the sitting resumed.
Wayne Burroughs, Robert J. Giroux, Brad Wuetherick, Hans R. Konow, Jeff Ekstein, Pierre Boucher, Harry Kits and Andrew Brouwer made a statement and answered questions.
At 12:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
