The Standing Committee on Finance met at 3:37 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Sue Barnes, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Roy Cullen, Nick Discepola, Albina Guarnieri, Sophia Leung, The Hon. Maria Minna, Shawn Murphy, Pierre Paquette, Charlie Penson, Pauline Picard, Gary Pillitteri, Tony Valeri, Bryon Wilfert.

Acting Member present: Joe Comartin for The Honourable Lorne Nystrom, Scott Reid for Rick Casson.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Blayne Haggart, Research Officer. From the Legislative Services: Joann Garbig, Legislative Clerk.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Tuesday, October 29, 2002, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-3, An Act to amend the Canada Pension Plan and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board Act (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, November 26, 2002, Meeting No. 29).

William B.P. Robson, Daniel Benedict made opening statements and answered questions.

At 4:40 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:44 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to Clause-by-Clause consideration of the Bill.
