Tuesday, April 24, 2001

The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Pierre Brien, Marlene Jennings, Walt Lastewka, Dan McTeague, Charlie Penson, Paddy Torsney and Susan Whelan.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Geoffrey P. Kieley, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From ARC Publications: John Chenier, Editor and Publisher. From Alternatives North: Suzette Montreuil, Coordinator. As Individual: Sean Moore, Public Policy and Public Affairs Advisor, Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to the Statutory Review of the Lobbyists Registration Act.

John Chenier, Suzette Montreuil and Sean Moore each made an opening statement, and answered questions.

At 5:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
