The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met in a televised session at 8:35 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Stéphane Bergeron, Bev Desjarlais, Claude Drouin, Dan McTeague, Charlie Penson, James Rajotte, Brent St. Denis, Chuck Strahl, Paddy Torsney, Joseph Volpe and Susan Whelan.

Acting Members present: Bob Speller for Walt Lastewka.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Lalita Acharya and James McQueen, Research Officers.

Appearing: From the Department of Industry: The Hon. Brian Tobin, Minister of Industry.

The Hon. Brian Tobin made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 9:54 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:02 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Mark Nantais, Robert J. Armstrong and Gerald Fedchun each made an opening statement and with Art Thomas, Michael Sheridan, Stephen Beatty and Doug Jure answered questions.

At 11:51 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
