Maxime Bernier moved, — That the Committee immediately undertake a study on the government’s consultations titled “Tax Planning Using Private Corporations” as publicly released on July 18, 2017;
that the Committee hear from witnesses on this topic for five meetings;
that the hearings consider the impact of the changes, including how they apply to small, local businesses but not large multi-national or publicly traded companies;
that the findings be reported to the House; and
that the government provide a response to the recommendations made by the Committee.
Debate arose thereon.
It was agreed, — That the debate be now adjourned.
Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

It was agreed, — That the Committee set aside 15 minutes at its next meeting of Thursday, September 28, 2017, for committee business in public to resume the adjourned debate on the motion moved today by Maxime Bernier.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the statutory review of Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, members of the Committee submit their preliminary witness lists to the Clerk no later than Thursday, September 28, 2017.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the statutory review of Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, the analysts and the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for consideration of the Committee on Thursday, September 28, 2017.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of intellectual property and technology transfer, the meeting of Tuesday, October 3, 2017, be dedicated to the consideration of the draft report.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the statutory review of Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, the meeting of Thursday, October 5, 2017, be dedicated to the hearing of witnesses.
At 12:53 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
