The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:08 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N Centre Block, the Chair, Peter Adams, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Peter Adams, Marlene Catterall, Rodger Cuzner, Yvon Godin, Michel Guimond, Dale Johnston, Joe Jordan, Geoff Regan, John Reynolds, Jacques Saada and Werner Schmidt.

 

Acting Members present: Gérard Binet for Guy St-Julien, Judi Longfield for Lynn Myers and Paul Harold Macklin for Carolyn Parrish.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Principal.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 
The Committee considered the Report of the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure.
 

It was agreed, — That the report of the Subcommittee be concurred in.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(vi), the Committee considered matters relating to the election of Members to the House of Commons.
 

On motion of John Reynolds, it was agreed, — That the mandate of the Subcommittee on Electoral Boundaries Readjustment be extended; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(vi), the Subcommittee be empowered to inquire into and report on any matter relating to the redistribution process.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(v) and 119.1(2), the Committee considered matters relating to the broadcasting of committee proceedings.
 

The Committee considered a draft report to extend the guidelines on broadcasting committee proceedings until the end of the current session.

 

On motion of Joe Jordan, it was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

 

On motion of Joe Jordan, it was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

At 11:37 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
