Wednesday, January 30, 2002
The Special Committee on Non-Medical Use of Drugs met in camera at 3:41 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Paddy Torsney, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Carole-Marie Allard, Libby Davies, Derek Lee, Réal Ménard, Paddy Torsney and Randy White.
Acting Members present: Roger Cuzner for Dominic Leblanc; Hedy Fry for Stephen Owen.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Chantal Collin and Marilyn Pilon, research officers.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the House of Commons on Thursday, May 17, 2001, consideration of the factors underlying or relating to the non-medical use of drugs. (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, June 7, 2001, Meeting No. 1).
The Committee met to consider its future business.
It was agreed, - That the revised budget in the amount of $582,172 be the budget for the Special Committee on non-medical use of drugs, and that it be submitted to the Board of Internal Economy for approval as soon as possible.
At 5:09 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
