MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 14

 

THURSDAY, May 7, 1998

The Sub-Committee on Private Members’ Business, of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, met at 9:12 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Carolyn Parrish (presiding).

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, André Harvey, Ken Epp and Carolyn Parrish.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jamie Robertson, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Greg Thompson, Paul Forseth, Roy Bailey, Inky Mark, Jay Hill, Dan McTeague and Jason Kenney for Leon Benoit.

Pursuant to the order of reference, from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, adopted on Monday, September 29, 1997, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Tuesday, April 28, 1998.

The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.

At 10:15 o’clock a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 10:20 o’clock a.m., the meeting resumed "in camera".

At 11:02 o’clock a.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
