Wednesday, October 28, 1998

The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 3:37 p.m. this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Chair, Lynn Myers, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Deborah Grey, André Harvey, Joe Jordan, Lynn Myers.

Acting Member present: Derrek Konrad for Deborah Grey.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Paul Forseth, John Solomon, Alex Shepherd, Diane St-Jacques, Darrel Stinson, Yvan Loubier, Gurmant Grewal, Bill Gilmour, Jim Hart, Pat Martin, Charles Caccia, Peter Stoffer, Guy St-Julien, John Maloney. From the Senate: The Hon. Erminie J. Cohen.

Pursuant to the order of reference, from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, adopted on Monday, September 29, 1997, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Tuesday, October 20, 1998.

The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:05 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 5:45 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:48 p.m., the sitting resumed "in camera".

At 6:20 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
