TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 1998
The Sub-Committee on Private Members’ Business, of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, met at 9:40 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Parrish (presiding).
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Ken Epp and Carolyn Parrish.
Acting Members present: Bill Matthews for André Harvey and John Richardson for Yvon Charbonneau.
Other Member present: Christiane Gagnon.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jamie Robertson, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Maurice Vellacott, Gilles Bernier, Garry Breitkreuz, Rick Borotsik, Albina Guarnieri and Peter MacKay.
Pursuant to the order of reference, from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, adopted on Monday, September 29, 1997, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Tuesday, March 17, 1998.
The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.
At 10:49 o’clock a.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
