Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development on Thursday, February 4, 2016, and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee on Thursday, October 4, 2018, the Subcommittee resumed its study of the global state of the free press.

Emmanuel Colombié, by videoconference from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Linda Lakhdhir, by videoconference from London, England, made statements and answered questions.

At 1:21 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:25 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 1:58 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
