The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of Canada’s Global Engagement on Human Rights Issues, Particularly Through the United Nations (UN) and its Agencies, the proposed budget in the amount of $122,657.37, for the Subcommittee’s travel to Geneva, Switzerland, in winter – spring of 2018, be adopted, and that the necessary staff accompany the Subcommittee.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of Canada’s Global Engagement on Human Rights Issues, Particularly Through the United Nations (UN) and its Agencies, the proposed budget in the amount of $40,570.04, for the Subcommittee’s travel to New York, New York, in winter – spring of 2018, be adopted, and that the necessary staff accompany the Subcommittee.

Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development on Thursday, February 4, 2016, and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee on Thursday, June 16, 2016, the Subcommittee resumed its study of human trafficking in South Asia.

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "A Global Fight: Supporting Efforts to Address Sex Trafficking in South Asia".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

At 2:03 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
