Welcome to the sixth meeting of the Standing Committee on Official Languages. Today is October 4, 2011. We are here to deal with committee business. We have received motions from Mr. Bélanger and Mr. Godin.
    Mr. Gourde?
Mr. Chair, I would like to request that the meeting be held in camera.
Mr. Gourde is presenting a motion that the meeting be held in camera. There is no debate.
I would like a recorded vote on this.
There is no debate on this motion. So…
If you want to kill democracy, you will take the blame for it.
… I am going to call the vote.
All those in favour of this motion…
Mr. Chair, this needs to be a recorded vote. Because if we want to kill democracy, we will take the blame for it.
    All right.
I would like to say something. Mr. Chair, you shouldn't use in camera to kill democracy in our country.
The chair has the floor. I am giving the floor to the clerk so that he can proceed with the recorded division.
(The motion is carried 6 to 4.)
    [The meeting continued in camera.]
