The Working Group on the LTVP and the Centre Block Rehabilitation met jointly in camera with the Senate Subcommittee on Long Term Vision and Plan on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 2:35 p.m., in Room 035-B, West Block.

In the Chair: Bruce Stanton, Deputy Speaker and Chair of Committees of the Whole, and the Honourable Senator Donald Plett, Chair of the Subcommittee

Members of the Working Group present: Kelly Block, Carol Hughes, Hon. Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Louis Plamondon, Martin Shields and Ryan Turnbull

Members of the Subcommittee present: The Honourable Senators Robert Black, Larry Campbell, Eric Forest, Josée Forest-Niesing and Jim Munson

CENTRE BLOCK INFILL PROPOSALS AND OPTIONS

Susan Kulba and Caroline Morency presented the Centre Block infill proposals and options and, with Michel Patrice, Rob Wright and Jennifer Garrett, answered questions.

The members discussed the potential infill above the Hall of Honour to create new space on three floors totalling approximately 600 m2 in floor area. There was a consensus that the space on the 6th floor be designed for shared use by parliamentarians. Further discussions will be held regarding the intended use of the 4th and 5th floor spaces.

At 3:55 p.m., the meeting was adjourned.
