Thursday, March 20, 2003
The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 9:12 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, David Pratt, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Leon Benoit, Bill Blaikie, Cheryl Gallant, Ivan Grose, Dominic LeBlanc, Joe McGuire, David Pratt, David Price, Elsie Wayne.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Research Officer.
Witness: From the Polaris Institute: Steven Staples, Director of the Project on the Corporate-Security State.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on Canada-United States Defence Cooperation and on other related issues.
The witness made an opening statement and answered questions.
On motion of Elsie Wayne, seconded by Cheryl Gallant, it was agreed,― That, in relation to its study on Long-Term Care for Veterans, the revised operational budget in the amount of $15,605 be adopted.
At 11:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
