Meeting No. 20

Tuesday, April 8, 2003

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 9:12 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, David Pratt, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Leon Benoit, Bill Blaikie, Ivan Grose, Dominic LeBlanc, Joe McGuire, David Pratt, David Price, Elsie Wayne.

In attendance: From the Parliementary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Research Officer; Barry Hamilton, Consultant.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee considered the future of its study on Canada-United States Defence Cooperation.

It was agreed to waive the 24 hours’ notice for the presentation of substantive motions.

On motion of Elsie Wayne, it was unanimously agreed, — That the House be asked to consider a motion to allow the Committee to travel to the United States for its study on Canada–United States Defence Cooperation.

At 10:10 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
