The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met without recording at 8:07 a.m. this day, in the Coast Harbourside & Marina in Victoria, B.C., the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Yvan Bernier, John Cummins, John Duncan, Wayne Easter, Bill Gilmour, Carmen Provenzano, Lou Sekora, Paul Steckle, Peter Stoffer.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.

Witness(e)s: From the Capital Regional Victoria District: Christopher Causton, Board Chair; Denise Blackwell. From the Island Scallops: Robert Saunders, President. From the Sierra Club of British Columbia: Sharon Chow.

At 8:35 o'clock a.m. the sitting was suspended to tour the Currie Road Pump Station, Clover and Point Outfall.

At 11:04 o'clock a.m. the sitting was resumed.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the Committee resumed its study on Aquaculture.

Robert Saunders made an opening statement and answered questions.

Pursuant to Section 52 of the Oceans Act, the Committee undertook a Review of the Act.

Sharon Chow made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 12:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to later this day.
